Week 5

G'day all

I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend. Once again I had a busy one! On Friday night my husband and I went out to dinner with friends and on Saturday we went to a wedding! Then on Sunday, we went to the airport to pick up my daughter who returned from a holiday in Bali.   Then later I had to do the usual chores like shopping and washing!

I hope that by now most of you are up to date with the blog activities. Once I hand back your corrected work tday then you can add it to your blog. Can you all make sure you have a link on your blog to mine and also at least one other link to a classmate. Ask me to show you if you don't know how to do it!

Thursday, the 17th March is my country, Ireland's National Day. Can you do a Google search and find out what the holiday is called and in Comments at the end of this post, write 2 things that are associated with the day?

What do you talk about when you're with friends? Have a listen to this casual conversation between two friends and complete the worksheet too.

Have a good week and happy blogging!

  8. The National Day of Ireland is St Patrick's Day, the patron saint of Ireland. He died on 17 March of 461 AD and since that date the 17th used to be a National Day of Ireland.
St Patrick used the three leaved shamrock to explain how the trinity of father, son and Holy spirit exists as seperate parts of the same being.Thats why his followers celebrate in parades wearing a shamrocks(green clothes) and drink a Guinness (traditional drink of Ireland).
